Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information “Hollowbound Realms” (“we”, “us”, “the game”, “the service”) collects when you use our website, the game and its online realm, and how we use it. Contact: [email protected].
What we collect
- Your account: your email address and your password, which we store only as a one-way hash, never in readable form. If you tick “Remember me”, a login token is kept on your computer and only a hash of it on our server, for up to 30 days.
- Email verification: a short code we email you, stored only as a hash until it is used or expires.
- Your characters and play: your characters, their progress, items and stash, your Market listings and sales, and your party and block lists, as the game needs to run.
- Purchases: the order number, what you bought, the price, the time, and its status. Payment is handled by a third-party payment gateway provider, we never receive or store your card number.
- Reports you send: the text of a FEEDBACK report, with your character, zone, game version and the time.
- Server logs: technical records of the realm's activity (logins, errors, performance), kept for a short time to keep the realm running and to investigate problems. Chat lines are not stored.
- The website: it uses no analytics and no advertising cookies. Your IP address may be processed to deliver the site to your device and protect the site from attacks, a third-party content delivery network provider may set a strictly necessary security cookie.
How we use it
- To run your account and the game: logging in, saving your characters, parties, trade and the Market.
- To send email you need: verification codes and messages about your account or purchases. We do not send marketing email.
- To deliver purchases, keep records of them, and handle refunds and payment disputes.
- To fix bugs, stop cheating and abuse, and keep the realm secure.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Who else handles it
- Stripe, and/or Venmo, and/or other online payment gateway providers process payments under their own privacy policy.
- A third-party provider may deliver the emails we send.
- A third-party provider may host the game server(s) and website.
- A third-party provider may host our support mailbox, if you write to us.
We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect players and the game from fraud or harm.
How long we keep it
Account and character data are kept while your account exists. Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require, even after an account is deleted.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete your account and its characters, by writing to [email protected] from your account's email address. Depending on where you live (for example in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California), you may have further rights, such as to object to some uses or to complain to a data protection authority. We answer requests within 30 days.
Age
Hollowbound Realms accounts are for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn that we have, we delete the account.
Where it is stored
The realm's server is in North America. If you play from elsewhere, your information is processed there.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell players in the game or by email when the change is significant.
